Black Mass,1928
I was working at a client’s home, just general computer stuff, and she said something about how “kids these days” were up to all sorts of no good they hadn’t been in her time. She’s not much older than I am - maybe 8 years. Anyway, I tried to tell her that nothing was really new, and kids in my day were up to the same thing as kids these days, and so were kids in her day, too. If anything has changed, it’s that more people of all ages are more open and hopefully more aware about what they do. There have been many changes over the years, of course, but the truth is we’re all still human and we’ve been doing human things forever.
Which is why this picture reminded me of a very sweet Japanese woman with greying hair who makes Starbucks instant coffee in a saucepan.
